What Are the Criteria for Becoming Clutch-Certified?

There are requirements for joining Clutch’s certification program, which is designed to help socially and/or economically disadvantaged vendors market their businesses and connect with buyers who seek their services. 

There is zero cost to apply for Clutch’s certification program. The criteria to become Clutch-certified are as follows:

Minority Certification

  • Must be at least 51% owned by minority group members who are US citizens. We abide by the federal definition of minority groups, “by a member (or collection of members) of four ethnic or racial groups: African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans” with the addition of members from MENA; the Middle East and North Africa. 
  • Companies without a previous third party certification are subject to a video interview, where they verify their application information.
  • Companies may be subject to additional proof of identification 

Veteran Certification

  • Be at least 51% owned by a veteran 
  • Companies without a previous third party certification are subject to a video interview, where they verify their application information.
  • Companies may be subject to additional proof of identification 

LGBTQ Certification

  • At least 51% owned by an LGBT person 
  • Exercises independence from any non-LGBT business enterprise
  • Companies without a previous third party certification are subject to a video interview, where they verify their application information.
  • Companies may be subject to additional proof of identification 

Women Certification

  • At least 51% owned by a woman 
  • Companies without a previous third party certification are subject to a video interview, where they verify their application information.
  • Companies may be subject to additional proof of identification
