What Makes a Company Ineligible for Verification

A company is ineligible for Clutch Verification if any of the following apply:

    • Recent bankruptcy

    • Inactive registration status

    • Large outstanding debts not paid on time

    • Fraudulent reviews

    • Did not pass Clutch’s internal background check

    • High credit risk score with fewer than 3 Verified Reviews

These measures ensure that only legitimate, financially stable, and trustworthy providers are eligible for Clutch Verification.

How Clutch Evaluates a Provider’s Credit Risk

As part of the Clutch Verification process, we review a company’s financial health using the  Clutch International Credit Risk Assessment. This score helps measure the likelihood of:

    • A business going bankrupt

    • Payment performance becoming seriously delinquent (defined as 90+ days past terms)

    • Debt collection history against the company

We partner with  CreditSafe to complete this analysis. This process provides an added layer of transparency so you can better understand the financial reliability of a potential provider with greater confidence.

How to Use Clutch Verification When Choosing a Provider

  1. Confirm legitimacy
Verified badges mean Clutch has confirmed the company is a registered, active business.

  2. Assess risk level
Premier Verified companies meet stricter standards than Verified. They undergo enhanced review and credit history checks, making Premier Verified the most selective verification tier. This gives you added confidence when considering higher-stakes projects.

  3. Supplement your research

Use Clutch Verification data alongside reviews, project examples, and direct conversations with providers.

Important Reminder

Clutch Verification is not an endorsement. A Verified badge indicates a provider passed our checks, but it doesn’t guarantee project success.

You should always:

    • Review multiple providers before making a decision
    • Read verified client reviews on Clutch
    • Ask for references and case studies
    • Consider your budget, timeline, and project goals
