What Is a Conflict of Interest in a Review?

A conflict of interest includes reviews from current or former employees, family members, or reviewers with a financial stake in the service provider’s company and falsified reviews.

Clutch works to verify that all reviews are submitted by an authentic client of a service provider and is absent of any potential conflict of interest.

If a review is identified as a conflict of interest, Clutch will not publish the review to any provider’s profile.

Clutch defines a conflict of interest as:

  • The reviewer currently works for or has worked for the service provider
  • The reviewer has a familial tie to the service provider
  • The reviewer has a financial stake in the service provider’s company
  • The review is falsified

If you believe a published review on Clutch to be a falsified review, please submit a report. Our Content Operations team investigates all reports of falsified content.
