What is Clutch Certified?

A designation that recognizes providers who have demonstrated real, review-backed expertise in a specific service or focus area. The distinction appears on your Clutch profile next to each qualifying service.

It is unrelated to the Clutch Diversity Certification program.

Why get Clutch Certified?

Clutch Certified is proof of where you're genuinely expert, told through the one signal buyers trust most: verified reviews from real clients.

Here's what it does for you:

  • Shows buyers what you're actually expert at. A star rating says you do good work in general. Clutch Certified says exactly which services you've proven — so buyers, and the AI tools increasingly shaping their shortlists, can tell you apart from providers who merely list the service.
  • Gives you an edge no one can copy. The distinction can't be bought, gamed, or self-declared. It's earned only by delivering expert work to real clients — which means it carries weight a competitor can't manufacture.
  • Rewards work you've already done. There's no application, no committee, and no fee. If your verified reviews already meet the bar, the distinction is awarded automatically.
  • Helps you get shortlisted faster. Buyers use the distinction as a quick, trustworthy filter at the moment they're comparing providers — putting proven specialists at the front of the line.

How Do I Get Clutch Certified?

To earn the distinction in a given service line or focus area, you need to meet both of the following:

  • Verified reviews: At least 3 verified reviews rated 4.0 or higher in the last 24 months, tagged to that service or focus area.
  • Service commitment: That service line or focus area to make up at least 10% of your overall mix.

Can I earn more than One Certification?

Yes. Clutch Certified is awarded per service or focus area, not per provider, and each one is evaluated independently. If you meet both criteria in three different areas, you'll earn the distinction in all three. As long as your verified reviews support it, you can be Clutch Certified in as many services and focus areas as you qualify for.

How do I update my service or focus mix?

You can update that directly in your profile.

What if I don’t have enough reviews that qualify?

If you're short on reviews, the fastest path is to reach out to recent clients in these areas. When you request a review through Clutch, you can specify the service line for the reviewer. Focus areas are tagged by reviewers based on the work you did together, so request reviews from clients whose projects involved these areas.

What if I believe my existing reviews should be considered for a service line or focus area they are not currently tagged for?

The review body text must already include the requested service line or focus area in order to be modified without any reviewer confirmation. If that is the case, you can submit a request to our reviews team here help.clutch.co/clutch-certified.

If not, the reviewer must provide confirmation or approve it by CCing reviews@clutch.co on an email that they agree the review should include a not currently tagged Service Line or Focus Area.
